Về thăm mẹ
Con
về thăm mẹ, mẹ ơi!
Khói hương phủ trắng khoảng trời nghĩa trang.
Lệ con ướt cả hai hàng
Nén! không để cánh hoa vàng ướt thêm.
Thanh minh! hè đến bên thềm
Nhớ người, nhớ cảnh êm đềm ngày xưa.
Nhớ! vì cua cá, quá trưa
Để người hắt cả cá cua, ra đường.
Mẹ buồn, và mẹ rất thương
Đi làm về muộn, mẹ thường đợi cơm.
Mẹ cần con học nhiều hơn
Nay con mới biết và ơn người nhiều.
Cá, cua ăn được bao nhiêu
Cuộc đời con, mới là điều mẹ trông.
Vì con là giọt máu hồng
Của cha, của mẹ, của ông, của bà.
Bao nhiêu năm tháng đã qua
Thân con, vẫn đượm hương hoa mẹ trồng.
Mẹ ơi! Mẹ có biết không?
Bây giờ mẹ hãy yên lòng nơi xa.
Bây giờ con sắp về nhà
Chúng con giờ đã lên bà, lên ông.
Nay về gặp mẹ, báo công:
Giờ con vẫn xứng “Giọt Hồng” của cha.
